Abey is One

Yes, I’m about two months late with this post, but better than never, right? Our little man turned 1 on March 26th and I just can’t believe it. It’s so cliche to say, but it was seriously the fastest year of our lives.

I already wrote a letter to him on the blog here, but seriously guys, kids don’t get much better than this one. He is so much fun to be around and just melts me with his little smile. He’s goofy and sweet and funny and I love him.

A little about Abe at 1 year:
He weighs 20 pounds, 4 ounces (41st percentile), is 28.75 inches long (26th percentile) and his head circumference is 47.75 cm (94th percentile).
He has 8 teeth (has had for many months).
Loves to eat anything.
Is starting to sit still for story time and will flip through books by himself.
Sleeps 12-14 hours at night.
Loves bathtime.
Has finally learned to clap.
Loves to babble, sing and laugh with us.
(And Mom and Dad are thrilled he can drink real milk now — no more buying formula!)

For Abe’s birthday we just had a little “party” with Kyle’s mom and dad (in town visiting) and our friends Erin and Kevin, and Chris and Kelsey and their two kiddos. We basically just watched Abe smash his cake and open presents, and we all ate cupcakes. Not too spectacular 🙂

I obviously am going to go far as a cake decorator.
I just think this little series of pictures is too funny. What’s going on here???
Yes…. This is probably my favorite picture of the night.
A little fuzzy, but here’s the aftermath.
Abe was more into eating the crumbs after we took the cake away than the cake itself.
Happy Birthday, baby boy!
With Grandma and Grandpa Hanson after he got all cleaned up in the bath.

We sure love this little dude, and are so glad he is ours!
