Baby H #2 | 20 Weeks + Gender Reveal

Time for an update on the pregnancy front. I’m just about 20 weeks (tomorrow!) and feeling really good. I get the occasional headaches and stomachaches, and I still tire easily, but overall, I’m good 🙂 I’ve been super blessed to have relatively easy pregnancies. Yes, I get the normal and expected aches and pains, but nothing above that, for which I am super grateful. The above picture was taken on Sunday, at 19 weeks. I definitely have a “magic” bump right now in that sometimes I look massively pregnant and other times I feel like my belly disappears.  It’s kind of funny 🙂

In other news, we had our anatomy scan yesterday and we found out that baby is a…
….
….
….

GIRL!

We are so thrilled 🙂 Kyle and I were both pretty 50/50 on what she would be, and I think I was expecting another boy! But we are excited to add a little gal to our family. The rest of our anatomy scan went great as well. She is healthy as can be, which is another blessing. We would, of course, love and raise her (or any future babies) just the same if they had any handicaps or disabilities, but we are also grateful that she is healthy.

Here’s a 3D shot of her face. Her hand was up by her face the whole time.
I know ultraounds can be hard to read, but I thought this one was too funny not to share — it’s a top view, so on the right is the top of her head, and on the left are her two little feet! What a flexible gal! And you can see her little fist there above the head, too.
A sweet profile shot of our little lady.

And now, here’s a few more details about how my pregnancy is going.

Due date:
November 7, 2015

How far along:
20 weeks

Next appointment:
July 6th. This will be with my new doctor in Pocatello, so I’m excited to hear what he has to say and to see if a VBAC is in my future!

Gender:
GIRL!

Total weight gain/loss:
I lost 6 and have gained 3 back, so still down 3 pounds.

Stretch marks:
No new ones… Just the ones from when I was pregnant with Abe.

Belly button:
In.

Sleep:
In generally I’m sleeping really well. I wake up a little more often than usual, but can fall back asleep quickly. Usually. There’s been a few nights where I’ve been awake during the 4-5 am hour… That was the standard hour I was awake when I was pregnant with Abe, too. And there’s always those few nights where you just lie awake… All.night.long. Luckily that’s only happened a couple of times so far.

Food cravings:
None that have been too pronounced.

Symptoms:
Just the usual things I discussed above. I still wake up congested every day, (which happened with Abe, too) and while it’s annoying, I deal with it.

Movement:
I’ve been feeling movement for the past couple of week or so. Just those first little flutters — and in the last week they have gotten a little bit bigger. I love feeling movement 🙂

Labor signs:
None!

What I’m loving:
Movement, and that we can now call our baby she instead of it.

What I’m looking forward to:
Bigger movements, and for Kyle to be able to feel her, too.

Best moment this week:
The ultrasound! I am in awe of the technology we have and how you can see every little part of the babe on the screen. I mean, our tech even pointed out our babies eye lenses, what?!

Again, we are so excited to be welcoming this little girl into our lives. Children are the biggest blessing, and I feel so blessed and grateful to be able to have the opportunity to be pregnant and be a mother.
