I’m Back!

I can’t even tell you how good it feels to be sitting down in front of my computer right now. I’ve really missed this space of mine, and I hope to be able to get back into a blogging groove fairly quickly! Since I’m pregnant, and we’re still unpacking, and the rest of July is still pretty busy for us, I think that I am going to try to post about 3x a week instead of the 5x I was doing pre-pregnancy. But we will see what happens!

So, first things first, we moved! (You can find all the info about why we moved here.) In case you need a refresher — we moved from Coeur d’Alene, ID to Pocatello, ID which is about an 8 hour drive. We are now 3 hours away from our families in Utah, instead of 12, so it will be nice to be able to see them a little more often. We packed up our U-haul on Wednesday of last week, and then we finished up cleaning and taking care of other odds and ends on Thursday before hopping onto the road. Kyle drove the U-haul with my car towed behind, and I drove his car (it has better AC) with Abe. We stopped overnight, and then got up bright and early to finish the drive. We arrived at our new house around noon, with Kyle’s parents and his two brothers arriving not too long after us to help us unpack. It was so nice of them all to come help us and we really appreciated the help!

And now, a little about our house.  First, we feel so blessed to be able to have found this house. It was seriously exactly what we were looking for, in the lower end of our price range. We definitely know that God’s hand was in the details not only as we looked for homes but as we went through the home buying and closing process. Because of how nicely everything worked out, we were able to move right in.

The home itself, as you can see from the above picture, is a ranch style home, on a corner lot. Upstairs we have a living room, dining area, kitchen, three bedrooms and a full bathroom. The downstairs is finished, with a family room, two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a laundry/storage room. Because our lot is slightly sloped, the two downstairs bedrooms have full windows, and we also have walk-out basement access from the laundry room. We have a good size yard, although it definitely needs a lot of work, specifically the backyard. Inside is pretty well updated, although it is in need of some painting, and I’d like to update the upstairs bathroom a little bit as well. However, it’s completely livable, and we are so happy with it!

Eventually I’d love to take you all on a little home tour, but that will have to wait a while, as we get unpacked and make a few updates to the home. Thanks for putting up with my sporadic posting lately! I can’t wait to get back in the game 🙂
