What I Read | October 2015

This month was an excellent one for the books! Read on to see why.

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
4 stars. This book is long, and full of descriptions, and not much happens. But regardless, it’s SO GOOD. The author draws you in by his writing and you stay along for the ride. I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about the ending, but it was still an excellent read. I definitely recommend it, especially if you love WWII books set in Europe, like I do.

Glory Days by Max Lucado
4 stars. See full review here.

The Girl From The Train by Irma Joubert
3 stars. See full review here

The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins
4 stars. This is a book that has been popular since it came out, and I finally got my hands on it. I’d heard mixed reviews, although mostly good things, and I ended up loving it. I kind of called the ending about a third of the way through, but of course there were details that I didn’t see coming. I’ve seen it be compared to Gone Girl, and while I don’t realllly think it’s like that, if you like Gone Girl, I think you will definitely like this book.

So there you go, the books I read in October. Have you read any of them? What did you think? Any new ones to recommend to me? And as always… Join me over on goodreads for more recommendations!
