What I Read

Well, here we are halfway through the year and I haven’t done a full post of the books I’ve been reading. I’ve read 41 books this year, so woof, that would be a long blog post coming at you. I’m just going to be sharing a few of my favorites, plus a couple more thoughts ona . You can see all the books I’ve read here on my goodreads shelf.

Excellent Books of 2019:

I re-read one of my favorite books, Ender’s Game. I love it so much. You should read it.

Six of Crows was great, but it’s sequel Crooked Kingdom was EVEN BETTER.

Dark Matter was crazy nuts and I probably didn’t understand half the science in this book, but man oh man, it was a ride.

Everyone needs to read Intuitive Eating.

Habits and personality types? Yes, please to Better Than Before.

Ever since taking a class on adolescent development and studying school shootings, I have been interested in studying and learning about these heartbreaking crimes. And so This Is Where It Ends was heartbreaking and compelling to read.

Give me all the books by Kate Morton! The Lake House was fantastic.

The Stillwater Girls wasn’t what I was expecting based on the blurb, but it came together so well.

I really loved the unique plot of The Escape Room and the ending really made my day.

Loved me some young adult fantasy in To Best The Boys.

The Last House Guest was just a nice, neat, fun thriller.

A Few More To Mention:

Everyone loves Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, but I really didn’t like it, like at all. Anyone else?

Exhibit Alexandra is a fascinating read, but also the whole premise/twist was so strange. Any one else read this and want to discuss with me?

If you like true crime (aka serial killers), Darkly Dreaming Dexter is a fun and fast fiction read.

The Mansion was weird, and not the best writing, but I enjoyed it.

Proper romance series don’t usually do anything for me but I read the first two books in the Steampunk Proper Romance series by Nancy Campbell Allen and really enjoyed them.

Jodi Picoult always brings some sort of hot topic to the table and A Spark of Light did not disappoint.

Wasn’t a fan of In The Woods.

Britfield and the Lost Crown was a bit boring for my taste, but I think true middle-grade readers will love it! And thanks to Front Gate Media you can enter to win your own copy of Britfield
