Oh my little son, what can I say? From the moment they first placed you on my chest, I knew. I knew that you were mine and I was yours and that from that moment on I would do anything for you. 365 days ago you came in my and your daddy’s life and added colors and dimensions to our world. You were prayed for, longed for, cried for for many nights and when you showed up, three weeks early, my heart just burst.
You have the sweetest disposition and you laugh and sing and smile all day long. I love how you reach out and wave your hands when you want something. I love how you slam your head into my arm or my knee and nuzzle when you’re excited. I love when you cover your face with your hands to play peek-a-boo. I love your laugh and your giggle and how you curl your hands into fists when something is funny.
You’re a mover and constantly on the go, constantly trying to learn new things and explore this big world. You’re my little angel baby, and daddy and I are so blessed to have you. Your dad and I are constantly talking about how sweet you are, how cute you are, how good you are. We are in awe of your presence in our lives every day. You are our biggest blessing. You are our biggest joy.
I can’t protect you from all the evil that is out there in the world. And even if I could, I wouldn’t. I know you need to learn and make your own decisions, but oh how I hope that we can teach you and give you a firm foundation in your youth so you’ll be prepared for whatever might come your way.
Just know that I will always love you, I will always be here for you, I will always be your biggest fan.
