Family Fun

Utah Trip Summer 2015

We just got back on Monday evening from a really fun 6 days spent down in Utah with our family. My dad and his partner were in town (they live in Florida) and we had lots of fun spending time together with them, as well as with Kyle’s brothers and their families. We love living closer to family! 2.5 hours is a much more fun drive than a 12 hour one. Whew.

Wednesday //
Abe and I drove down and met up with my dad and Steven so they could watch Abe while I got my hair cut. I chopped my hair off and got a subtle balayage, and I love it! We spent the rest of the evening just spending time together.

Thursday //
I met up with my BFF Kaitlin and her little girl Sadie at Kneaders for breakfast, and then we went back to their house for a while to play. We’re arranging a marriage for Abe and Sadie already 😉 After naps all around, Abe and I met up with my dad and Steve again for some shopping and dinner.

Friday//
Kyle drove down and we all went to the zoo that afternoon and then to dinner. It was Abe’s first time at the zoo, and he may have been more interested in all the water features of the animals homes… But we still had a fun time.

Saturday //
We spent the morning at the Johnson Family Heritage Fair. This was a reunion of sorts for all the descendants of my great grandparents Ezekiel and Julia Johnson. They are actually my great x 4 grandparents on my Grandpa Galbraith’s side and my great x 5 grandparents on my Grandma Galbraith’s side! My dad gave two presentations in the morning and it was really fun to learn more about my ancestors. later that afternoon I got to meet up with Tayler from The Morrell Tale for ice cream. We’ve been blogging friends for a while now, and it was so great to meet her in real life! Kyle, Abe, Dad, Steve and I spent the rest of the evening at my brother-in-law’s house and it was so fun to watch the cousins play together.

Sunday //
We spent time at my cousin’s house before Kyle, Abe and I took off to my mom’s for lunch and to spend time for her. We stopped really quickly at my BFF Dani’s house for a visit, and then Kyle drove back to Pocatello, since he had to work the next day.

Monday //
My dad and Steven got married! They have been together for 12 years, and decided to get married while they were in Utah so that I (and my dad’s family) could be there. It was really special, and I am so happy for them! We went out to lunch afterwards, and then Abe and I made the drive home.

We packed a lot of stuff in, but it was oh-so-worth it! There’s no time like family time 🙂
