Five On Friday | Vol. 1

Ever since re-branding my blog and trying to follow a more consistent schedule I’ve known I’ve wanted to start doing a Five On Friday type of post at least one a month. I am not very good with blogging about family updates and outings, or other random things, so I knew that that would be the best way to do so on the blog. However with Blogtember and everything it just hasn’t happened yet! So today, here’s the first installment 🙂 (PS, I know there are a bunch of Friday link-ups to do with Fridays and Fives and Updates, but I’m not so interested in linking up as I am just doing some family updates.)

1 | A Trip to Utah
Over the first weekend of October we drove down to Utah (about a 2.5 hour drive) to spend time with our families before the baby comes. It was our church’s general conference, so it was nice to be able to spend that time together. We stayed at Kyle’s parents’ house, spent time with nieces and nephews, visited Kyle’s grandma, and I was able to sneak in a girl’s night, too 🙂

Kaitlin is one of my besties, and I’m so glad we got to spend some quality time together.
Me and Lara, another bestie, at her baby shower, comparing bumps 🙂
Kyle and Abe with Kyle’s grandma. It was so good to see her!

 2 | A New Niece

I think I’ve mentioned it before, but my SIL and I had the same due date, which has been a lot of fun! However, she had been having contractions for a while, and had been on bedrest, and on Thursday, October 8th, little miss Audrey was born 4 weeks early. She’s doing fine and is now at home!

Jess and I on the Sunday we were in Utah, comparing our bumps. Audrey was born 4 days later!

3 | Usborne Book Party
My friend Cortney is a consultant for Usborne Books, and I recently threw an online party for her. My goodness, what amazing books! You should definitely check them out. Here are the books I got for free or half-off, thanks to my friends. I can’t wait to give them to Abe and watch him explore them. (Debating if I want to become a consultant myself….)

4 | A Fun Fall Day
We have a couple of trees that have been losing leaves, so we got out the rake, made a big pile, and introduced Abe to jumping in the leaves! He wasn’t so sure at first, but he did love jumping on Daddy!

5 | A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch
Last weekend my mom and sister drove up to stay with us during my sister’s fall break. We had a good time together, and had a really fun visit to the pumpkin patch!

So there’s a little glimpse of what we’ve been up to! I’d love to know what you’ve been doing! Drop me a comment below! 🙂
