Family and Friends, Five On Friday

    Five On Friday

Man, alive, guys, I always mean to post at least a monthly Five on Friday, but it always gets away from me! This Five on Friday post has been a loooong time coming. So let’s get caught up on our recent happenings. We’ve been up to some fun things, so I hope you enjoy it!

    1 | Weekend with Ayisha

A while back I was texting my best friend, Ayisha, about I needed a little break from being a mom. Next thing I know, she was planning a weekend of pampering for me and her, as well as a chance for us to catch up in person, since it has been a long time. She drove up, brought me lunch, and we chatted while my children took unusually long naps (bless them). Once Kyle got home from work, we went and got massages and our nails done (massage for me, nails for her), grabbed some dinner, and went to stay the night at a hotel. We stayed up way too late chatting, I took a long hot shower, and we enjoyed a good night’s sleep. The next morning we went out to brunch before she dropped me off at home. It was so needed, and so great to see her again. Love you, Ish!

    2 | October Happenings

The second week of October, Kyle participated in the West Yellowstone Cycle Tour. He biked from West Yellowstone to Old Faithful and back and had a lot of fun doing it. I believe it was about 60 miles. I don’t have any pictures to share, but thought it was worth mentioning!

On October 13th, Kyle’s sweet Grandma Hanson died. We were able to go to her funeral and celebrate her amazing life and see all of the Hanson side of the family. Grandpa Hanson died right before we got married, so it’s been 6.5 years that she’s been alone, and we are happy that they are reunited now.

And just one more quick little thing. our good friend’s dogs had puppies, so we took Abe over to see them and he was in heaven, and I had to share a few of the pictures I took of Abe with them. So freakin’ cute.

    3 | Halloween & Fall Activities

Alright, I know I am way behind, but I had to document anyway! A couple of weeks before Halloween, my mom and sister came up to visit during my sister’s fall break, and we spent that Saturday going to the Pocatello Zoo, and a local pumpkin patch! We had a great time, and I was grateful to not be 38 weeks pregnant this time around, like I was last year 😉

For Halloween, Abe dressed up as a BYU football player (and this costume will be his costume for like the next 10 years so…..) and I put Eliza in some black leggings and a tunic with a skeletal rib cage on it (and this will probably be her costume next year too, yep). We obviously aren’t super into Halloween, but we did take our kiddos to a trunk or treat, and then around to a handful of neighbors on our street. Afterwards Kyle and I enjoyed eating all their candy, ha.

    4 | Eliza’s Birthday

On November 5th, Eliza turned ONE! Can you believe it? My in-law’s happened to be visiting that weekend to help with a home improvement project (painted all of our inside doors and closet doors!) so we were able to celebrate with them. We went to dinner at Sizzler’s, opened presents and had some cupcakes. We’re so grateful for this little lady in our lives! (PS, my camera’s SD card broke the day before her birthday, so all we’ve got are some great phone photos. Oh well!

    5 | Abe’s First Football Game

A couple of weekends ago we drove down to Utah to see some family, and to take Abe to his first BYU football game! It turned on to be the most perfect weather. We sat on the north side of the west bleachers, and were in the shade the whole time (it was a 1 pm game) but it wasn’t cold at all. Just literally perfect. Before the game we went to the BYU (book) Store and got Kyle and I new hoodies, and grabbed some lunch there on campus as well (why wasn’t there a Chik-Fil-A when I was a student???!) and enjoyed walking around campus. It’s been 6 years since Kyle graduated, and 5 since I did, and there have been so many changes! It was a lot of fun to walk around and reminisce about the memories that were made there, though.

    Five On Friday

So there you go! A little glimpse into our lives recently. Hopefully I’ll get to writing Five on Friday posts more regularly this coming year 🙂 What have you been up to?
