Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful women out there, whether you’ve been made a mom by giving birth, through adoption, or through loving any child(ren) around you as your own. No matter how your heart has found it’s calling in mothering, this day is for you.

I’m so thankful for all the mothers I have encountered in my life, starting, of course, with my own lovely mom. The one who birthed me, who raised me, who fights for me, who teaches me, who loves me. I’m thankful for my mother-in-law, for my best friends’ moms who took me in and treated me as their own, for all the women who have taught me in some capacity or another.

Women can truly change the world. Women are amazing. And on this Mother’s Day, I hope we can celebrate the women we know, and thank them for their service to us.

I was sent a few items from Deseret Book, just in time for Mother’s Day, and I want to share them with you today, in case you’re looking for a last minute gift for your own mom.

The new book Once There Was A Mom is short, sweet, and tear-inducing. It talks about the challenges of motherhood, of the questions that often plagues us as moms: Am I good enough? Is this worth it? Is what I’m doing really that important? And the realization we can achieve that YES it is important and so, so worth it. If you have a friend who is currently in the throes and trenches of motherhood, this book is for her, and I would highly suggest picking it up for yourself, as well.

Deseret Book has also come out with two new CDs, that I think any woman will enjoy. First, the Mormon Tabernacle and Friends is a fun CD that showcases songs that “America’s Choir” has sung with well-know vocalists and performers throughout the years, such as Amy Grant, Angela Lansbury and Brian Stokes Mitchell. Second, the debut album of City of Enoch, Sweet Redeemer, is an amazing, amazing collections of worshipful songs. I have been listening to it non-stop, as it puts me in such a good mood, and brings such a special spirit into my home. I highly, highly recommend it for any one, and any home.
