About Me

I always like to get to know bloggers a little better through “about me” posts. I think it is so fun to find out things about them that might not otherwise come across in their posts. It’s extra fun to find that you have something in common with them, too!

So here’s a little you should know about me.

// I was born in Florida, but I moved to Utah when I was about 18 months old after my parents got divorced. I’ve lived all over Utah County, but I call Orem home.
// I went to 2 elementary schools, 2 junior high schools, and 2 high schools.
// I graduated in 2007 from Mountain View High School (go Bruins!) and I participated in FCCLA, National Honor Society, Bruin Crew, the occasional school play, Dance Company, and Drill Team.
// I went to BYU (Provo, aka the real one) where I started out with the intent of studying to become a high school English and French teacher, played around with doing HR, thought about social work (no undergrad program at the Y, unfortunately) and then started and finished a degree in Family Life and Human Development, which I LOVED.
// I have thought about it and almost wish I had gotten my degree in Communications or Marketing, with a minor in Human Development, but such is life. And like I said, I did really love my degree. I think doing a program to be an ultrasound tech would be engaging too…..
// I have also thought about going back and getting a Masters degree in either Human Development or School Counseling, but I don’t think I ever will. Unless we get rich and can afford to pay off Kyle’s grad school loans, pay to put me through grad school, and have enough money to hire an awesome nanny and housekeeper. So…. Yep, never will šŸ™‚
// All in all I’ve taken about 9 years of French (spanning 6th grade-sophomore year in college). I’ve lost most of it though šŸ™ I am in love with the French language and France in general. Viva la France!
// Before moving to northern Idaho and becoming a stay-at-home mom, I had job experience in customer service, group sales, human resources, front office work, medical billing and credentialing, and supervisory/management experience.
// I absolutely love to read. Mostly fiction, any kind.
// I have a fondness for watching semi-trashy TV shows – I attribute this to not being able to watch TV when I lived at home, so I’ve had to catch up šŸ˜‰ Some of my favorites are Gossip Girl and Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve recently enjoyed Revenge, and am currently on seasons 2 of Scandal. Kyle and I also are huge LOST fans.
// I met my husband in the fall of 2008 {love story coming soon!} and we were married in May 2010.
// I love to go shopping. I love clothes, purses, wallets, shoes. All of it. I want it all. You can never have enough clothes {ok, maybe you can, but still….}.
// I have a terrible love for cheeseburgers and fries. And also pizza. And baked goods. And chocolate. And ice cream. And basically all carbs. Do you see why getting fit is so hard for me? I love all the food! But I am trying to eat better, I am! {Fitness goals post still coming soon…}
// I love girls nights. Nothing better than getting together with the girls, chatting and eating junk food.
// I also love nights in with my honey. Cuddling on the couch and watching Netflix is a favorite in our house.
// I’ve had many nicknames in my life – {btw, my full name is Brittanny, and yes, it’s spelled weird, yes, no one ever spells it right} – such as Britt, Britts, Britters, B, but Britt is the one that has stuck. Although I wish I had made people call me Bri or Bree instead, but you know, that’s ok. Britt is good šŸ™‚
// I’m kind of lazy, and also kind of a slob. But I also love to be organized. Don’t ask me how that works out….
// My husband and I actually really love Idaho (we’ve lived in Pocatello and now the Coeur d’Alene area). Who knows if we will ever move back to Utah?!
So there’s a little about me!
Have anything else you want to know? Just ask! I’m a pretty forthcoming person and will answer pretty much anything.
