The Creative Closet // Classy Neutrals

{A link up hosted by Jana at Life Could Be a Dream and Maegen at The Modern Tulip.}

My closet is full of neutrals. Greys, tans, browns, whites – I’m just drawn to them. Which is why when I saw this week’s prompt for The Creative Closet I knew I would be all over that. However, since I’m such a lover of sweaters and cardigans, it ended up being a little hard to find something that worked in this HEAT. We live in northern Idaho, and have had a “heat wave” of the upper nineties the past week or so. I know that might be nothing to some of you, but it’s pretty hot for up here. As you can see, I ended up going with a tribal print tan and white shirt, with, what else?, a trusty cardigan over it. {Although a light, breezy, short sleeved one.} I love cardigans because I think they’re so classic. And worn open and loose, they help hide those love handles πŸ™‚ And the tribal print is a fun print for summer, a little more exciting than wearing a boring solid underneath (although I do that frequently) πŸ™‚ I’ll admit I’m just wearing my trusty jeans – still working to get that post-partum weight off to be able to fit into more of my pants!

Shirt: J.Crew (won via  a giveaway on Dani elena) // Cardigan: Deb // Jeans: Forever 21
A little more about the link up – I started reading Jana’s blog a while ago, and not only is she a great writer and super cute, she married a friend of mine from high school (which is how I was introduced to her blog in the first place). The more I read her blog, the more I think she is just the best. Hopefully we can meet in real life sometime πŸ™‚ Anyhow, she and Maegen created a link up which I think is just fabulous. You can read more about it here. Between going out of town and having zero clothing in last week’s color prompt, I haven’t linked up yet, and am so excited to finally do it today.

PS, obviously I am needing to experiment a little more with poses, backgrounds, etc for my fashion posts, but I’ll get there! Also, does anyone else have a husband who is so much taller than them that it’s hard to get a good picture? It’s a struggle sometimes! πŸ™‚
