23 Weeks

32 weeks along, and baby is growing, growing, growing (and so am I). Even though I’ve been through a whole pregnancy before, it seems brand new at times. The gift of life is a miracle and I am grateful every day that I get this opportunity. I have no crazy symptoms to report — so far this pregnancy is very similar to Abe’s — very textbook, if you will, which I am also grateful for.

We have narrowed down the name choices to two names, but will most likely wait until she is born to make the ultimate decision. In case you’re wondering though, her initials will either be RMH or ELH. (Leave your guesses in the comments! I’d love to hear them!)

I met with my new doctor last week, and he was supportive of me having a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Of course, there are many risks associated with that, and we’ll have to see what happens closer to my due date, but as of right now, I’m hopeful about it. I didn’t really have a birth plan with Abe other than “keep me and him safe” and that is pretty much how I am going into this delivery as well. If things work out for a VBAC, great! But if things get dicey or unsafe, then I have no problem with having another c-section. So, again, we will just wait and see!

And just for fun, here’s a picture comparing me at 23 weeks with Abe (left) to 23 weeks now with baby girl (right) with the same shirt on. I think I’m definitely carrying this little lady lower, at least so far.
