DIY Preparedness Travel Bag

I’m not sure about where you live, but here in Idaho, winter weather is officially here. While I love the cool and rainy weather that comes with the fall, I am not a fan of the snow and cold that quickly follow. One good thing about the winter, though? The holidays, of course! The holiday season just fills me with joy and I love being surrounded by family and friends. As you know, we live about 3 hours away from our families, and this year we are traveling to them for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Traveling with kids, especially small ones, can be a bit of a beast, especially when you’re traveling for longer than a weekend. You never know what you might need! That’s especially true if you’re traveling during the winter months. Not only do you want to pack snow gear, but you have to be prepared for whatever might strike! Wintertime is definitely the time for the unexpected , and man, alive, coughs  can put a damper on any fun activity pretty quickly. At home, coughs are something that we can deal with pretty easily, but on the road they are no fun.

Luckily, I’m 2.5 years and 3 winters into this motherhood thing, not to mention we’ve traveled a lot with our kids, so I’ve created a little preparedness  travel pack that I can keep stocked, and just throw in my bag when I’m packing to go somewhere! It’s full of supplies that would be helpful for  one (or both) of my kids while we’re traveling.

Preparedness Travel Bag for Little Ones

Here’s what you need, and what I’ve included in my preparedness travel bag. Of course you can take out or add in other items, depending on your needs and preferences, but this is a good starting point.

  1. A small-medium sized make-up or toiletry bag.
  2. Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup
  3. Little Remedies® Gas Drops
  4. Bandages
  5. Baby/Children’s Fever Reducer
  6. Bulb syringe and saline drops.
  7. Diaper cream.
  8. Teething gel.

My kids have already had 2 or 3 coughs since the fall started, and I’m sure we’re going to get hit another 2-3 times by the end of winter, and I can almost guarantee one of those times will be while we’re in Utah visiting family, so it’s nice to know that I’m prepared for that! We’re big fans of Little Remedies® around here. Little Remedies® has everything they need, nothing they don’t™, and has safe & reliable Solutions just for your little ones.

Abe recently had his first cough, and so I headed to my local Walmart to pick up some Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup and I found it right in the baby section. The Honey Cough Syrup is 100% natural, with only 3 ingredients, and offers simple, natural relief for little coughs. And best of all?  Abe loved it! It’s always nice to find products that my toddler will take willingly 🙂  Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup 4oz is on Rollback for $5.97!

And if you have a baby, be sure to put some Little Remedies® Gas Relief Drops in your bag! It quickly relieves tummy pain from excess gas. You can find it in the baby section, as well! Little Remedies® Gas Drops 1 oz. are also on rollback at Walmart for only $7.17!

So there you have it. A DIY Preparedness Travel Bag for you to keep on hand this winter season (and always!) Let me know what else you would add to your own travel bag below!
