What's In My Bag

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a what’s in my bag post, so I thought today would be the perfect day to write up a new post to show you what’s currently in my bag, because, hello, I’m now toting around a 2 year old and a 7 month old, so things are bound to be different (at least a little bit…) than my last post.

First, the bag. I’m still using my Lily Jade Elizabeth bag, and am just as obsessed with it as ever. The look screams “Britt” and of course the organizer inside is perfect for my organizing needs. Ready to look inside? Here we go!

  • Diapers + Wipes: Of course, these days I have two sizes of diapers in my bag, size 3 for Elle and size 4 for Abe. (I joke that we’re going to be buying them both the same size soon.) And we always have a pack of wipes, because we use wipes for everything, not just diaper changes! Wiping off messy faces or hands, wiping noses, wiping down the stroller… There are a million and one uses for baby wipes.
  • Sunscreen, Hand Sanitizer + Diaper Cream: I feel like these are pretty self-explanatory. The sunscreen is a new addition for summer, and I love having a small stick to keep in my bag.
  • Bottle + Formula: As you probably remember, Eliza is formula fed, so these are must-haves to keep her fed!
  • Snacks for Abe: We have a handful of snacks that we like to rotate through, but our new favorite is Gerber Lil’ Beanies. I love that these are a healthier choice than some other snack options out there, and that they are easy to throw in a sandwich baggie to take along for the ride.
  • Mommy Items: Wallet, chapstick, hand lotion, pen, phone, keys. All those things I need and love.
  • Extra Clothes + Burp Cloth: Neither of my kids have been big “blow-outers”, but I like to keep an extra change of clothes in the bottom of my bag, just in case. And of course a burp cloth is always a good thing to have on hand.
  • Toys for the Kids: Right now this usually looks like a toy car for Abe and a little stuffed animal or teething toy for Eliza.

All of these are essentials of course, but right now I really need to make sure I always have snacks for Abe with me at all times. He must be going through a growth spurt or something, because he wants to eat all.the.time. He literally asks for a snack right after breakfast. And then again an hour later. And then right before lunch. And right after his nap. And before dinner. And after dinner. And before bed. All the time, I’m telling you! Which is why I’m glad he likes Gerber Lil’ Beanies so much! Like I mentioned above, they’re a healthier choice than some other snacks. They’re made of navy beans, and have 2g of protein and 1g of fiber per serving, so I know he’s getting some nutrients when he chooses them as a snack.  They come in two flavors, original and white cheddar and broccoli, and Abe likes them both! We grab them in the baby food aisle at our local Wal-Mart. (Because let’s be honest, we grab everything at Wal-Mart.)

What even is that face? Ha. It cracks me up!
