Gift Guide Series 2016 | For Her: LipSense

christmas-gift-guide

Happy November! I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween yesterday, and that your candy hangover isn’t too strong today 😉 Today I’m kicking off my gift guide series for this year’s holiday season! I’m hoping to post a new product or brand (or just a regular ol’ gift guide) every Tuesday for the next 6 weeks or so. And today we’re talking about: Lipsense! The perfect gift for all lipstick lovers in your life.

Alright. So let’s talk about LipSense. For those of you who have been living under a rock (or who don’t have Facebook, ha!) LipSense is the new rage in the lipstick and MLM world. It’s a long-lasting lip color that molecularly bonds with your lips, and is worn with a permeable shea butter gloss that transfers through the color to hydrate your lips while keeping the color on. Once it is on, it doesn’t come off! Colors cost $25 (there are a ton — I believe over 70) and glosses (there are 10 to choose from) cost $20.

For the longest time I have wanted to try it, but I was also skeptical, mostly because of the price! I mean, wasn’t my Rimmel Provocalips doing basically the same thing, for a fraction of the price? Oh boy, little did I know just how different, and addicting, LipSense would be! My sweet friend Jacey recently started selling LipSense, and reached out to be to see if I wanted to collaborate. And of course I said yes! Jacey and I have been friends since we were 12 (literally we were the best of friends for a few years before I moved) and I just love her. After a lot of going back and forth with Jacey trying to choose a color, I decided on Roseberry, along with some Glossy Gloss. I anxiously stalked my mailbox waiting for it to ship, and when it finally came, I tried it right on, and was not disappointed!

Here I am wearing Roseberry. Is it not gorgeous?! It’s a nice, rich pink. It’s showing up a tiny bit brighter/lighter in this picture than I feel like it actually looks in person, but it’s so pretty. I really love it. As soon as I tried it on I knew that gone were the days of my overflowing lipstick, lip gloss and chapstick drawer. I immediately ordered two more colors, and one of their lip balms. And then another color, another gloss, and an Oops! remover. And I might have ordered one of their new winter limited editions today. So. Yes. It’s a problem. It’s an addiction. And I feel no qualms about it.

Because here’s the thing. It truly does stay on ALL DAY LONG. (Check out this Insta post of mine showing you it’s staying power.) It truly does make my lips feel amazing. And with all the colors they carry, well, I have no need for any other lip product.

Here I am wearing Pink Champagne (literally took this picture a few hours ago). I am in love with this color. It’s the perfect nude shade for me. Whether I’m just wearing minimal makeup, or I’m wearing maybe a brighter shirt color that I don’t want my lips to clash with, this is the color for that. It’s wonderful.

Here are some high quality (HA) phone selfies of me in the other two colors I own. Aussie Rose is on the left, and Sheer Berry on the right. I love both of these, too. Aussie Rose is a bit lighter than Roseberry, and is a perfect every day pink. I wear a lot of grey (and other neutral tones) so this just gives a little brightness to my every day appearance. Sheer Berry on the other hand, is darker, and perfect for going out. It’s been a go-to for me this fall — I just feel like it’s the perfect fall color! If you saw my Insta photos from a couple of weekends ago at the zoo and pumpkin patch, I was wearing Sheer Berry in those.

If you’re like me, and generally only buy drug store brand lipsticks (spending $5-10 on each), you’ll probably experience a bit of sticker shock when you go to buy your first color and gloss. But again, let me tell you, it’s well worth it. However, if you’re used to buying more high end lip products ($15-35 each) you probably won’t be surprised to hear that this high quality product is selling for this much.

Another thing to note about LipSense — you are really supposed to wear only LipSense products on your lips once you’ve started to wear them. The ingredients in the color, gloss (and lip balm) are lead and wax free, and work to exfoliate the build up of past lip products. So you might experience some tingling and exfoliating on your lips the first few times you wear your LipSense. This is normal. My lips are finally getting past that stage (hallelujah!) but if you go back and forth with LipSense and other products (even chapstick), it will take longer for you to get past that point. Hence another reason why I mentioned above that I am going to be throwing out the rest of my lip products. (PS, the lip balm is out of stock and I am not-so-patiently waiting for it to come back in stock because I am sure it’s ah-mazing!)

So there you go. I am a lipstick lover, and a skeptic, turned total believer and follower of LipSense.

Jacey has kindly offered to give 10% off to all of you on orders placed now (11/1) through the end of the year. All you have to do is hop on over and join her facebook page (Jacey’s Lip Lovin), and message her your order! Easy-peasy. Just mention my name and blog when you chat with her! She’s also available to help you pick out a color or two if you’re not sure what color is best for you! (If you don’t have facebook, don’t worry! You can email her at Jaceythomas217(@)gmail(.)com.

You can also join Jacey’s team. It’s a $55 fee, and you get 20-50% off your orders! She described it like a Costco membership – you pay a yearly fee and then get discounted items. Pretty sweet. Again, you can contact her for more info.

I’m so thrilled I got to try out LipSense, and I hope you enjoy trying it out, too!

I received a free color and a free gloss in exchange for this post. But all opinions are my own – and as you can tell by the fact I purchased more, I truly do love this product!
