#PrinceOfPeace

I remember nights spent crying myself to sleep. I remember days spent trying to make sense of the information thrown at me. I remember time spend trying to decide what path was right for me. I remember confusion, dread, noise, doubt, agitation, and distraction.

And I’m sure you all can remember those feelings, too.

Whether we’ve experienced them because of school, of work, of relationships, of family, of life, of sickness, of brokenness, we’ve all felt them. We’ve all desperately searched for some sort of resolution to the problem, for peace for our troubled soul.

I’ve had many experiences in my life, where I’ve sought for peace, for comfort, for some sort of something.

I’ve needed peace, I’ve needed answers.

And I’ve found it.

Through Him.

And you can find it, too.

Consider the lyrics from one of my favorite hymns:

“Where can I turn for peace?
Where is my solace
When other sources cease to make me whole?
When with a wounded heart, anger or malice
I draw myself apart,
Searching my soul?

Where, when my aching grows
Where, when I languish
Where, in my need to know, where can I turn?
Where is the quiet hand to calm my anguish?
Who, who can understand?
He, only one.

He answers privately
Reaches my reachings.
In my Gethsemane, Savior and Friend.
Gentle the peace He finds for my beseeching.
Constant He is and Kind.
Love without end.”

He truly is love, He truly is constant, He truly is kind. And He truly will answer us, reach to us, and bring us peace. I know this, and I want you to know it, too.

For the past few years, the LDS church has created social media campaigns during the Christmas and Easter seasons, in an effort to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to touch others and to help them find their own joy and peace in the knowledge of our Savior. (I’ve previously written about #LIGHTtheWORLD, #Hallelujah, and #ASaviorIsBorn, and you can see all the uplifting videos from previous years here.) This year’s Easter campaign is entitled #PRINCEofPEACE, to help share with others how we can find peace in our lives, and how Christ is the only source of true peace.

One of my favorite ways to find peace is by watching General Conference and learning from living prophets (as well as rereading their words, afterwards). There is always at least one talk that touches my soul, that whispers answers to questions I didn’t even know I had. The sessions of Conference start at 10 am (MST) and 2 pm (MST) tomorrow (Saturday, the 1st) and Sunday (the 2nd), and you can find all the different options to watch and listen here.  I hope you’ll consider joining in with us, and learning more about God’s plan for you.
