A Coffee Date | Vol. 3

A Coffee DateHappy Monday, Friends. I’m currently sitting here on our downstairs couch, watching Abe and Eliza play together and watch Home. Have y’all seen that movie? It is Abe’s favorite and he wants to watch it multiple times a day. And so, sometimes we do. Today I’m linking up with Erin for our monthly coffee dates, even though it’s been many months since I have actually joined in. Won’t you join us today?

If we were on a coffee date, I’d be sipping some peppermint flavored hot chocolate. ‘Tis the season, and all that. Plus it’s delicious, and I love it.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you about the horrendous weather we’ve been having here in Idaho. And by horrendous I mean horrendously cold. It’s been in the teens during the day and single digits (or negatives!) during the night. Plus snowing quite a bit as well. We have hardly left the house this past week, and I don’t feel bad about it. (Edit: Today it is warmer (read: high 30s) and sunny. Hallelujah!)

If we were on a coffee date, I’d ask you about your plans for Christmas. We’ll be heading down to Utah to spend time with my mom and sister, and Kyle’s family as well. We’ve been talking about only traveling over Christmas for another year or two. We’d like to start doing our own Christmas, and then traveling at a later time to celebrate with our family. Or only traveling down for Christmas Day every couple of years, or something like that. Nothing is set in stone yet, of course. Just something we’ve been thinking about talking about. So yes, I’d ask you your Christmas arrangements to get more ideas to mull over.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d ask you how you’re handling being a mom. The monotony is getting to me. Especially during the winter when I don’t want to leave my house, because it’s so cold. Do you have any fun, quick, cheap, easy activities to do with toddlers? Send them my way. Please.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d ask you you about how you’re currently self-caring. Eliza is finally mostly, usually, sleeping through the night, so I’m thinking about getting up before my kids get up, to have a bit of quiet time to myself before the day starts. I’m also thinking about spending more time doing silly little things like face masks and painting my nails at night after the kids go to bed. I think it might be a good way to wind down.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you about LipSense, because holy crap I am obsessed. My sweet friend Jacey had me sign up, and while I’m not going to be actively selling, I AM going to be placing one large order at the end of the month. So if you want to try it, or need another color or gloss, let me know, and I’ll give you 15% off plus free shipping.

If we were on a coffee date, I’d tell you about my PowerSheets, and ask you what sort of goals you’re working towards in 2017. I have been working through the prep section of my PowerSheets and I am so motivated and excited for 2017 to start. I am going to be working on changing my mindset on a few things, and I think (know!) I can do it.

Well, there you go. Those are a few things that have been on my mind, and what I’d chat with you about if we were face to face, and I so wish we were. I love you, friends. I really, truly do.
