2015 In Review

2015 Review

2015. What. A. Year. I know I’ve said this before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but 2015 was a crazy, wonderful, busy year for our little family. I’ve been doing yearly recaps since we’ve been married, and I love going back and reading them to see what we’ve accomplished and done together, and so, here we go!

January

My two best friends from childhood suffered tragedies when ones dad passed away and the others dad had a stroke. We took a trip to Pocatello for Kyle to attend the ICA conference, and while we were down there Kyle interviewed for the open position in region 6 “just to see”. I also posted about two of my favorite Christian books here and here.

February

Kyle was offered the job in region 6, and we ultimately decided to take it, as long as we didn’t have to move down until the summer, which they accepted. I blogged about my thoughts on 50 Shades of Grey, and I started my blog series entitled LDS Faith and Beliefs (see all blog posts in the series here).

March

Kyle turned 29 and Abe turned 1 and we had a little party for him. The three of us took a trip to Seattle, Washington and Victoria, British Columbia to celebrate our 5 year anniversary (about 6 weeks early). While we were in Seattle, I was able to meet up with some bloggers for an afternoon, which was so fun! And we took some amazing family photos. We also found out we were pregnant with number two!

April

April was a pretty slow month, mostly I was sick from pregnancy, ha.

May

We celebrate our 5th anniversary, can you believe it?! We also announced our pregnancy and I shared the details here. We drove down to Pocatello over Memorial Day to look at houses and ultimately put an offer on one!

June

We found out we were having a GIRL and we packed up and prepared to move. I also wrote about my feelings on the SCOTUS decision regarding gay marriage. And we closed on our house via a notary.

July

We packed up the cars and U-Haul and drove 8 hours away to our new home and city! We also visited Utah to visit family and see my dad marry his long-time partner, which was so great. Three of my favorite blog posts from the year also went up this month (here, here, and here).

August

I turned 26 and shared my 26 at 26 goals. I also shared my thoughts about why motherhood is important and why it’s ok when your dreams are small. My little sister stayed with us for a week after my mom had surgery, which was also fun.

September

My in-laws stayed with us, and K and his dad built us a shed! I participated in Blog-tember 2015 and also shared my thoughts on gender and how to get your child to enjoy reading.

October

Most of this month was spent just anxiously awaiting the birth of our babe! We celebrated Halloween, took a trip to Utah and the pumpkin patch, and enjoyed having my mom and sister visit us. I shared why I stay a member of the LDS church, and how I felt about transitioning to two kids. I shared what’s in my hospital bag and a little heartfelt letter to Abe. I also talked about D-MER and breastfeeding, in hopes to raise awareness of D-MER for other mommas out there!

November

We welcomed our sweet Eliza into the world (birth story here and here), my best friend came to visit and we celebrated Thanksgiving with my mom and sister. We got our family pictures taken, and I shared my top products for pregnancy, and my testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

December

We celebrated Christmas down in Utah with our families and blessed our sweet Eliza. I shared the story behind her name as well as her birth announcement. I also shared our Christmas card and my thoughts on Christmas.  I joined the team over at She Teaches Fearlessly and shared how I’m inviting Christ into my life in 2016. And of course, I shared my top blog posts of 2016.

Whew, what a year! But such a good one!
